Riau Islands Immigration Office Launches “Eazy 1000 Passport” Service: Offers 60 Free Passports and Engages People with Disabilities

The Riau Islands Regional Immigration Office, in collaboration with all immigration offices in the Riau Islands, is conducting an electronic passport service program called “Eazy 1000 Passport” at Grand Batam Mall on May 17–18, 2025.

This program is being implemented in response to high public demand, with 26,680 passports issued between January and April 2025. To overcome the limitations of daily service quotas and access during weekdays, the service is being held on weekends, with a target of issuing 1,000 passports.

Held under the theme “Rise, My Indonesia; Rise, My Immigration Services: Digitalization of Services Based on Transparency,” this initiative is part of ongoing efforts to improve service quality and represents Immigration's proactive response to the public’s need for easier access to government services.

Ujo Sujoto, Head of the Riau Islands Immigration Office, stated that this initiative will continue to be held on weekends and national holidays to serve a broader segment of the public.

“The Eazy Passport event is designed to accommodate applicants who are unable to process their passports during weekdays. Moving forward, we will regularly offer similar services so the public can truly feel the presence of the state. Therefore, we encourage everyone to stay informed and provide feedback on our services. We are open to suggestions and ready to make improvements,” he said.

Immigration has also involved the disabled community in the service process as part of its commitment to strengthening the role of people with disabilities in public administration. Additionally, 60 selected applicants were given the opportunity to win door prizes in the form of free passports.

“We want to ensure that this service is accessible to all segments of society. Involving them in the service is our way of promoting equality and ensuring that no one is left behind.”

Deputy Governor of the Riau Islands, Nyanyang Haris Pratamura, in his remarks, expressed appreciation and hope for continued collaboration between Immigration and the Riau Islands Government.

“We extend our appreciation and gratitude to Immigration for this flexible service approach. We are also working towards deploying mobile passport units in each sub-district,” he said.

Also present at the event was Tato Juliadin Hidayawan, Director of Visas and Travel Documents at the Directorate General of Immigration. He noted that the implementation of this activity aligns with the interim Director General’s directive regarding service digitalization.

“This program will also be expanded to other regions to broaden access to immigration services. In addition, we have introduced a special visa policy for the Riau Islands region that allows a 4-day visa-free visit for holders of Singapore Permanent Resident status, provided they enter and exit through the Riau Islands,” Tato concluded.
